Dashboard Overview
The SalesHQ POS dashboard gives you an at-a-glance view of your business performance. It displays key metrics, charts, and insights to help you make informed decisions.
Accessing the Dashboard
The dashboard is the first screen you see after logging in. You can also access it at any time by clicking "Dashboard" in the main navigation menu.
Key Metrics
The dashboard displays several important business metrics as summary cards at the top:
- Today's Sales — Total revenue from today's completed sales
- Today's Transactions — Number of sales processed today
- Products — Total number of active products in your inventory
- Low Stock Items — Number of products below their reorder level
Sales Chart
The sales chart provides a visual representation of your sales performance over time. You can view:
- Daily sales — Sales for the current week, day by day
- Weekly sales — Sales for the current month, week by week
- Monthly sales — Sales for the current year, month by month
The chart helps you identify trends, peak selling days, and seasonal patterns in your business.
Recent Sales
A list of the most recent transactions is displayed on the dashboard, showing:
- Transaction reference number
- Customer name (if assigned)
- Total amount
- Payment method
- Time of sale
Click on any transaction to view its full details.
Top Selling Products
The dashboard shows your best-performing products based on quantity sold or revenue generated. This helps you:
- Identify your most popular items
- Ensure high-demand products are always in stock
- Make informed decisions about product promotions
Low Stock Alerts
The dashboard highlights products that have fallen below their reorder level. Each alert shows:
- Product name
- Current stock level
- Reorder level
Click on a low-stock alert to navigate directly to the product for reordering.
Dashboard Widgets
Depending on your subscription plan, you may have access to additional dashboard widgets:
- Revenue by Payment Method — Breakdown of sales by cash, card, mobile money, and credit
- Sales by Category — Which product categories generate the most revenue
- Credit Summary — Outstanding credit balances overview
- Expense Summary — Overview of business expenses
- Branch Comparison — Compare performance across multiple branches (multi-branch plans)
Filtering & Date Range
Many dashboard elements can be filtered by date range. Use the date picker to view metrics for:
- Today
- This week
- This month
- Custom date range
